1Manchester City have copped a £35,000 fine for failing to control their players. The sanction comes after the recent 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on March 19 which saw the visitors awarded a penalty in the 50th minute. 2Gael Clichy's high foot on Roberto Firmino was deemed dangerous by referee Michael Oliver who pointed to the spot with James Milner converting. City players did not agree with the decision and subsequently crowded the match official. A statement from the FA read: "Following an independent regulatory commission hearing, Manchester City have been fined £35,000 after the club admitted an FA misconduct charge. "City breached FA Rule E20(a) in that in or around the 50th minute of the game against Liverpool on 19 March 2017, the club failed to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion." 3It is the second £35,000 fine for City this after they were penalised for a similar offence against Chelsea on December 3.
