Despite their shock run to the UCL quarterfinals, the FC crew can't see how Atletico don't overcome Leicester over two legs. Diego Simeone has said that the Foxes share similar traits with his Atletico Madrid side ahead of their clash on Wednesday. 1Leicester City prepare for the biggest game in their history with revenge firmly on the brain. The Foxes visit Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League hoping to avenge their UEFA Cup loss 20 years ago. 2Leicester lost 2-1 at the Vicente Calderon in 1997 -- a result they would gladly take this time around. Ian Marshall, with his firmly socks around his ankles, scored City's goal that night from the penalty spot as the then unfashionable Foxes enjoyed a famous defeat. Atleti then won 2-0 at Filbert Street, but Leicester not only had Garry Parker farcically second-yellowed for taking a quick free kick but three solid penalty appeals turned down. Martin O'Neill was so incensed he practically implied the match was fixed after the game. Those connected with Atleti might not remember the match too well, but Leicester haven't forgotten those string of officiating injustices that cost them a possible giant killing. City once again travel to Spain as huge underdogs but, having stunned Sevilla in the round of 16, won't be taken lightly. Two decades on they are certainly better equipped to cause an upset. Atletico Madrid Atletico Madrid Leicester City Leicester City 6:45 PM UTC Leg 1 Game Details GameCast Lineups and Stats The key is again going to be keeping the game tight, trying to knick an away goal and then relying on another magical night at the King Power Stadium in the second leg. A slender loss certainly wouldn't be a bad result and probably one that would be widely celebrated in the East Midlands. 3Leicester head into the game in their best form of the season, having won six of their last seven matches in all competitions. 4However there were warning signs in Sunday's 4-2 loss at Everton -- City's first under Craig Shakespeare. The defensive frailties that ultimately proved Claudio Ranieri's downfall returned. The absence of Wes Morgan Danny Simpson, and Christian Fuchs clearly unsettled the back line, but it's now important the trio return at their peak. Morgan remains a doubt for the game, though, meaning Yohan Benalouane may well start. He has deputised relatively well for Morgan thus far but looked shaky against Romelu Lukaku and was at fault for Everton's opener at the weekend. Antoine Griezmann is sure to target him if Benalouane does partner Robert Huth. Shakespeare has a couple of other selection headaches. Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton are both in excellent form meaning either could start wide left with Riyad Mahrez on the other side. Atletico Madrid eliminated Leicester City from the 1997 UEFA Cup in controversial circumstances. The Leicester boss must also decide whether to persist with Shinji Okazaki alongside Jamie Vardy or opt for an extra midfielder instead in a 4-5-1. Okazaki is selfless and versatile enough to drop into midfield which is probably why he will start, especially since Vardy has flourished since the pair have played together. Whatever XI start it's highly unlikely they will be in a conventional 4-4-2 meaning Islam Slimani must again settle for a place on the bench, despite scoring against Everton and impressing in the Champions League thus far. The fact the Algerian has struggled to compliment Vardy isn't working in his favour either despite popping up with a few keys goals -- almost exclusively with his head. Leicester have nothing to lose over the two legs. They have already progressed further than most expected and should try to enjoy the occasion -- a task made a whole lot easier now that Premier League safety is in touching distance. The Foxes can certainly cause Atleti problems going forwards, but it's shutting out Diego Simeone's men that's going to be the tallest order. 5Kasper Schmeichel is going to be in for a busy night and is perhaps City's most important player, not just because of the saves he makes but the leadership he offers as well. One thing is for sure, though, Leicester need to be considerably better than in the away leg at Sevilla in the last round. That night they came away with a credible 2-1 loss but were extremely fortunate not to concede four or five. A similar type of display surely won't result in the same kind scoreline, but instead a Shakespearean tragedy. Ben Jacobs is ESPN FC's Leicester City blogger. Follow him on Twitter @JacobsBen.
