Last year Liverpool visited the Hawthorns slightly later in the season - the last league game of the season in fact - and were just three days away from their first European final since 2007. 2Jurgen Klopp insisted the focus was firmly on the Baggies: “It’s very important because we can still move up two positions in the table. It’s not in our hands but the only way to climb the table is to win the game at West Brom. “In this moment, Sunday afternoon is the most important game in the world.” We think Klopp’s team choice at the Hawthorns sent a slightly different message. Of the 11 players in liverpool’s starting line-up in that match, just one of them was in the most recent matchday squad. Here’s the team that day - and if you got all 11 you’re got a better memory than us! Right back - Jon Flanagan Flanagan has struggled to make a major impact in his loan spell at Burnley, racking up just five league appearances. 3Impressively though, he did use one of those appearances to make Manchester United fans fume over what they thought was a penalty for a challenge on Ander Herrera. He remains keen to revive his Reds career. Centre back - Martin Skrtel 4Skrtel was playing his last game for Liverpool and was sold to Fenerbahçe for a reported £5 million last summer. He has made 26 league appearances for the Turkish side, scoring two goals and picking up a measly six yellow cards. He has reportedly set a new Fenerbahçe team record for shirts pulled in a season. He played 90 minutes in their 3-1 victory over Akhisar Belediyespor on Sunday and they lie third in the table. Centre back - Lucas Leiva Lucas is the only starter in this team still with the Reds, he has made 18 league appearances this season and recently starred in a midfield role in the Merseyside derby. Left back - Brad Smith The Australian youngster left for Bournemouth last summer for around £6 million. He has made just seven appearances for Eddie Howe’s side, although he was on the bench for their visit to Anfield last week. Midfield - Cameron Brannagan Brannagan has spent the season on loan at League One side Fleetwood, but has found starts difficult to come by, making just four. Midfield - Kevin Stewart Stewart made four substitute appearances early on in the season, but has not featured in the league since then. He started in both of the Reds’ cup encounters with Plymouth, though that may not be something he’ll be shouting from the rooftops. Midfield - Joe Allen The Anfield cult hero joined Stoke City last summer in a £13 million move. 5He has featured in 31 of Stoke’s 32 league matches so far, registering six goals and three assists, including an equaliser against Manchester United in October. He was withdrawn after 27 minutes at the weekend thanks to a hamstring injury. Substitutes 8Simon Mignolet - The Belgian stopper has regained his place in goal this season after the shaky start of Loris Karius. Tiago Ilori - The Portugese defender joined Championship side Reading in January, but has made just three appearances because of an ankle injury. 9Connor Randall - The young full back has played 10 times for the u23s this season. He featured in the first team once, being withdrawn after 45 minutes against Wolves in the FA Cup. 10Jordan Henderson - Henderson was back on the bench for the first time after recovering from a heel injury here.
