Ask Klopp About It. by Paul Drake 2Liverpool’s week filled with bad news since the midway break, Wednesday. The start of April bringing in a two-year band, a £100,000 fine and a 1-1-0 performance stat. Before the news of this broke today. Being involved in discussions here at home concerning this exact problem. Some believed Liverpool were banned from making any senior team transfers. Others not sure what the hell is going on. Happy to see there is an easy explanation to all of this. You cannot explain something if you do not understand it yourself. Thank you, BBC Sports! According to BBC Sports, The ban is two years long, with the second year being extended to three extra years. This coming off the back of a senseless draw gives us all the more reason to put this week behind us. BBC went on to say: “In September 2016 Liverpool made an application to register the Stoke City Academy player and compensation was agreed. “But the application was rejected by the Premier League Board.” After this, the Premier League took things a step further and BBC went on to report: 3“An investigation by the Premier League found that Liverpool spoke to the youngster and his family before they should have and also paid for him and some of his family to attend a game at Anfield. “Liverpool also offered to pay the player’s school fees, which were being paid by Stoke at this time, but this was a breach of newly-introduced regulations which state a benefit can only be offered if it is applicable to all youngsters across the club’s academy and this was not the case. “Premier League rules ban the offer of any inducements from clubs to encourage a move.” Well aware of the actions: 4Liverpool was well aware of the misconduct happening behind the scene and admitted to the wrong doing. So why did they do it, the next Messi perhaps? 5Hopefully, the long-term effect of this has no lasting problems and Liverpool is able to continue as planned with their Kirkby switch that’s still in its early stages. Ironically enough, Liverpool caused these academy problems with the team they’ll be facing this weekend Saturday, Stoke City. Coincidence? Yes, definitely one! This has to be a wake-up call for Liverpool. A wake-up call to start dealing with transfer business in better fashion. We can’t suck at senior transfers and juniors as well.
